LARGE PROJECTS

The Wayfarers ~

The Wayfarers is a fantasy duology (with the addition of the novella currently titled The Crestfallen) originating

from an idea intended to be a children’s book. At the start of the COVID pandemic, I fooled around with the

concept of gods, treasure maps, and war until the plot matured and turned into what it is now. If you follow me on

Instagram, you’re most likely already familiar with this. I have been posting about The Wayfarers since the year 2020

and even had the opportunity to pitch the series at a conference in 2022.

For close to a year I have been chipping away at a new manuscript. While the project remains untitled and I won't dive into specifics concerning the plot, my goal is to have the first draft completed by the end of the calendar year. This standalone (so far) deals with topics of grief, found family, and quiet adventure. Once complete with a few rounds of edits and revisions, I plan to bring it to several writing conferences. At the moment, this is my main project. I plan to return to The Wayfarers once the first draft is done.

With these large projects, I often withhold information on all social media platforms, but I do what I can to keep my audience interested and entertained. What I decide to share with the public will most likely find a place on my Instagram. However, on most of the resources listed on my socials link (found on the "About" page), each character of The Wayfarers has their own little platform of fame! Check out my Pinterest to see their curated boards and my saved inspiration.

The Ambiguous Rory  Feltch ~

NOW UP ON THE EMPTY PEN!

The Ambiguous Rory Feltch is a thriller/mystery short story following the character Rory after he wakes in an unfamiliar cave surrounded by masked figures and no memory apart from his name and age. The masked strangers give Rory a task, a game he is forced to play if he doesn't wish to meet an even more unfortunate fate.

Rory's journey originates from a dream I had in high school following a cult, a mountain, and a murderous game of hide and seek. Long story short, the dream was horrific and perfect for a bone-chilling tale. Rory's story grew and developed in depth compared to my original dream, becoming that much stronger and haunting in the process.

Farmhand ~

Farmhand is a nonfiction essay following my experience growing up in the rural midwest, the development of complex family dynamics, and what it's like yearning for relationships despite their toxicity.

This essay formulated when taking a nonfiction writing class at university. I always swore to never write nonfiction for a multitude of reasons. Most of which boil down to being unfamiliar with the genre and knowing I would only have negative stories to write with nothing to hide behind. I was terrified of this class, of the way it would make me face these stories. And yet, Farmhand erupted from me. There wasn't anything I could do to stop it.

I have big plans for this piece, all of which you can find below!
